minicar: I know that on the regular pill you are supposed to wait 7 days before having unprotected sex but when I read the directions that came with my mini pill pack it only mentions 48 hours, like if you miss a pill use a backup method for 48 hours. It doesn't say any specific about how long to wait after you first start taking the pills. I am on day 3. I called my dr and am waiting for a call back and just thought I would ask here too. Thanks.How long does it take for the mini pill (Errin) to be effective?I am on Jolivette and it says the same thing as you. My doc said that they should be effective after that 48 hours, but I still waited a week. Better safe than sorry.
