I have a 1993 Plymouth Voyager mini van with a 5 speed manual transmission and I can't get the stick shift knob to come off. Tried pulling and unscrewing. Anyone know? How to remove stick shift knob on 93 Plymouth Voyager mini van?The shift knob is actually somewhat long (about 5 inches) and made of plastic. The knob will be partially covered by a rubber boot at the base and there is a recessed collar. What you need to do is gently pull the rubber boot away from the bottom of the shift knob around the recessed collar. Now slide the rubber boot down and this will reveal the bottom of the shift knob. On both sides of the base of the shift knob are two small holes which are over two small steel stubs on the shift shaft. Carefully unhook the shift knob from the stubs and pull the shift knob up and off.

This is not a normal way to fasten the shift knob, but it how Plymouth did mine. The only way I found it was based on removing the rubber boot first.

If you try and unscrew the knob, the plastic will crack and the shift knob will be useless. As for the hex nut answer, that is probable, but in my case that type of knob was not being used. How to remove stick shift knob on 93 Plymouth Voyager mini van?On the side facing the dashboard there should be a small set screw you remove with an allen wrench. this is a really small set screw that may not be easily seen due to dirt plugging it. Loosen this screw and pull the knob off,How to remove stick shift knob on 93 Plymouth Voyager mini van?IT WILL UNSCREW , JUST GET A BIG PAIR OF PLIARS
