A/V-to-FireWire adapters exist, but they cost as much or more as consumer camcorders, and you'd have to feed them both audio and video (because there's no way for your camera to split them) and they also aren't battery powered. You could feed the camcorder from a computer that had a mic and camera, but then you might as well just record on the computer directly.It looks like you're going to have to either replace your camcorder with one that has a mic input (JVC makes other models that do), or use a separate audio recorder and sync it up in post-production.--------Many Sony miniDV camcorders without mic jacks have proprietary "intelligent" accessory shoes that will accept a Sony (only) shotgun mic accessory (you are limited to Sony, but at least it can do it). I have shot a few weddings using the thing found on my page and then put it all together in the editing studio I have.
