The log and capture window will open, and you should see a small "VTR OK" beneath the play/stop/ff/rew buttons in the log and capture window. You capture clips from the tape by first naming the clip in the description box (not the "name" box), playing the tape using the playback buttons on the camcorder or in the log and capture window. What you need is either a MiniDV Camcorder with IEEE-1394 (Or also known as FIREWIRE, i-LINK, DV or MACRODV). Next your PC need to have the same connector. You might need to get a PCI Card that provide you with such a port. But since you will be doing your editing with Final Cut (Pro), I could safely assume that you will be using an Apple Macintosh.
