I have to convert a short film taken with a hi8 camcorder and convert it to a Mini DV fromat.How do i transfer a Hi8 video to Mini DV? Is there some kind of software i can use?connect AV output of Hi8camcorder to AV input of MiniDV camera with a passthrough feature(I know all canon and sony has this feature)then record on your Mini DV camcorder casstte .there dont come any PC in the story so no software required.How do i transfer a Hi8 video to Mini DV? Is there some kind of software i can use?Just hook both Hi8 and MiniDV camcorders up.How do i transfer a Hi8 video to Mini DV? If you want to make a dvd or something with your hi 8 footage, borrow a camera and record the output onto a dvd recorder or use a capture card and do it directly to your pc. Save as .mpg. Most dvd software will take care of the rest. hope this is ok
