minicar: The camcorder uses mini DV tapes to record but i want to put those videos onto my PC. I already read through on how to use it with firewire, but I only have the COM port cable. I was wondering if there was any software (preferable free) that could capture directly off the camera while using the COM cable.How can i capture video off my mini DV tape camcorder to my pc?when you connect the com cable to the pc it should install the proper drivers and actually let you drag the video or copy and save the video to your hard drive. also there should have been a cd that came with the camera that should have a software for this purpose if it needs a certain program at all. best of luck!
