i failed to make recovery disc for my compac mini laptop. Now the laptop wouldn't boot and i need to restore it to its factory status. It doesn't boot and i did not make any recovery?if its a pc then you can just use system restore. it restores the system to an original status. if you're using Windows XP then search in the start menu using the find tool "system restore" if on vista or 7 then go to the start menu and type system restore into the search bar. Once you've opened the restore application its pretty self explanatory. I haven't done one ina while so i cannot remember if it backs up files or not so if you want to keep certain files it might eb a good idea to back them up, although im pretty sure it only resets programmes and settings and does not delete them.
